Abstract
The lung tissues of tesdudo grecca (land tortoise) living in the vicinity of some Anatolian villages which have large number of patients suffering with lung cancer, were investigated. Crysotile type asbestos fibres were identified in the samples by using electron microscopical methods and it was considered that this may be caused due to dust and water, containing asbestos, in the environment.
